At Leehurst Swan, learning doesn’t stop when the school day ends. Our extensive clubs and activities programme is designed to nurture curiosity, confidence and character at every stage of a child’s journey – from Reception through to GCSE.
Whether pupils are discovering new interests, developing existing talents, or simply enjoying time with friends, our clubs offer something for everyone. Academic enrichment, creative expression, physical wellbeing and personal development all sit side by side, reflecting our belief in a truly balanced education.
Our youngest pupils enjoy a rich programme of imaginative, practical and gently structured clubs that encourage curiosity, teamwork and confidence.
Creative and exploratory clubs such as Creative Games, Creative Club, Animal Passport Adventure, Planet Patrol: Exploring Google Earth, Songbirds, Board Games & Trading Cards, and Book Club introduce children to new ideas in a playful, engaging way. Alongside these, Gymnastics, Football, Netball, Swim Squad and Wellbeing Club support physical development and emotional confidence from an early age.
Creativity is central to life at Leehurst Swan. Pupils can explore music, drama, art and design through a wide range of opportunities.
From Musical Theatre, Sewing Club and Craft Club in the middle years, to senior ensembles and performance groups such as Leehurst Beats, Leehurst Voices, Rock Band, Studio Session, Production Rehearsals, Performing Shakespeare, Film Club, and Audition Evenings, pupils are encouraged to perform, create and collaborate with confidence.
Many clubs are designed to stretch thinking, deepen subject knowledge and encourage a love of learning beyond the classroom.
These include Science Club, General Knowledge, Chess Club, Debate Club, English Games & Activities, German Club, Wargaming / Warhammer Club, and targeted support such as Maths Support, 11+ Club, English Coursework Clinic, and a range of GCSE Clinics in Science, Music, Art and Photography.
Physical activity and wellbeing play a vital role in school life. Pupils can choose from a broad selection of team and individual activities, including Football, Netball, Hockey, Cross Country, Gymnastics, Swim Squad and Pilates.
Dedicated Wellbeing Clubs at different stages support emotional health, resilience and balance, ensuring pupils feel supported as they grow.
Older pupils benefit from clubs that support independence, responsibility and preparation for life beyond school. These include Duke of Edinburgh Award (DofE) Support, senior academic clinics, and creative and performance-based pathways that help pupils explore future interests and ambitions.
A Programme That Grows With Your Child
Our clubs programme evolves as pupils progress through the school, offering age-appropriate opportunities that reflect their interests, abilities and aspirations. Participation is encouraged, enjoyment is central, and every pupil is supported to find activities where they can thrive.
