ISI Regulatory Compliance Inspection March 2020

We are very proud to report that Leehurst Swan was found compliant in all components of the inspection, which included an examination of the following areas of the school:

  • Quality of education provided
  • Spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of pupils
  • Welfare, health and safety of pupils
  • Suitability of staff, supply staff and proprietors
  • Premises of and accommodation at school
  • Provision of information
  • Manner in which complaints are handled
  • Quality of leadership in and management of school

Highlights of the inspection report included:

GCSE performances (for years 2017-2019) were reported to be ‘above the national average for maintained schools’. Inspectors stated that our ‘teaching enables pupils to make good progress, encompasses effective behaviour management and is supported by suitable resources’.

The report also commented that at Leehurst Swan’s principles and values are actively promoted which facilitate the personal development of pupils as responsible, tolerant, law-abiding citizens’. The new leadership and management of the School were also commended for ‘fulfilling their responsibilities effectively so that other standards are consistently met as they promote the well-being of their pupils.

ISI Educational Quality and Compliance Inspection March 2017

In March 2017 Leehurst Swan was awarded top marks by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI), the body approved by the Department of Education for inspecting schools belonging to the Independent Schools Council (ISC).

ISI inspections cover two areas of educational provision: Educational Quality and Compliance. The school was inspected in both categories and achieved the grade of ‘Excellent’ in every category of Educational Quality. Within the Early Years setting, the school was graded ‘Outstanding’. Both grades are the highest possible outcomes achievable.

The inspectors found the school to be fully compliant in regards to all regulations.
