Our family atmosphere, small class sizes and individual attention means that we know, and have time for, each individual child. We support and encourage our pupils in the classroom and celebrate their achievements outside of school. Children may find their voice in maths, in art, on the sports field or in any number of ways. Finding their strengths and giving pupils the opportunity to fly will boost their self-esteem. Self-confidence opens doors and encourages pupils to take risks, express their creativity in class assignments and invest in the work they produce at school. Confidence plays a crucial role in pupilsβ learning outcomes.

HEADTEACHER'S WELCOME
At Leehurst Swan, we have the highest aspirations for all our pupils to 'Find their Voice'β―within a community that promotes the importance of shared values, as we seek to encourage a real enthusiasmβ―for learning and a spirit of enquiry. The Leehurst Swan education is one based on Christian values, high academic standards, breadth of curriculum, exceptional pastoral care and Fundamental British Values. It is designed to celebrate the individual and foster the unique interests and talents of each pupil from Reception to GCSE. Everything we do is carefully sculpted to create a community of learners in small classes, who are supported in pursuit of their passions and talents and well equipped to meet the challenges of the present and the future so they can truly βfind their voiceβ.
At Leehurst Swan, we believe that each pupil has the potential to be a leader of tomorrow and make a positive difference to the lives of others and we aim for them to be compassionate, curious and courageous individuals.
Please do come and see for yourself what makes Leehurst Swan such a unique and special place to learn and I look forward to welcoming you and your family.

In the 1960s a brown gym slip was introduced for the first 2 years of Senior School. Pleated skirts had to be worn from the 3rdΒ year upwards.
By 1975, the nuns were allowed to venture out of the school grounds and were able to wear secular dress.
In 1996, another big change occurred for the all girls school- the boys arrived!Β 114 boys and 18 staff members from the Swan boys school, merged with La Retraite.
In 2007, Leehurst Swan became the school's final name. Two years earlier, the Order of La Retraite had sold the freehold to the land and buildings to the school, severing the last connection with the nuns. The condition of the purchase was the name La Retraite was no longer used,…
