Independent Co-Educational Day School
This week, Year 7 went to the stunning nature reserve Langford Lakes to take part in an ecological sampling and habitat adaptation workshop.
Langford Lakes has an amazing abundance of wildlife and pupils sampled for invertebrates in different settings, including the very rare chalk streams.
Pupils classified the invertebrates found using keys and identification charts and looked at the adaptations of the invertebrates.
Many a newt, axolotl, cased caddis fly larvae and mayfly nymphs were found as well as a beetle larger than a 50p coin!
