Year 6 Cow Heart Dissection

12-11-2019

As part of their studies into healthy bodies and the circulatory system, Year 6 pupils had the opportunity to watch the dissection of a cow heart.

Pupils observed the major chambers, valves and vessels of the heart in order to understand the circulation of blood through the heart to the lungs and back and out to the rest of the body.

A cow heart is used because it is very similar to the human heart in structure & function.

What a memorable way to learn!
