Independent Co-Educational Day School
Year 6 pupils enjoyed a day out to Middle Wallop at the recently refurbished and renamed Army Flying Museum Pupils explored the exhibits, learning about the history of flight, the World Wars and the role of gliders in D-Day. It was really fun to try on some original WWII items of kit. There was an opportunity to understand how people used to live in wartime Britain, with a model house, costumes, household items and an outdoor 'privy'!
There were more modern exhibits on display with the interactive helicopter and the engine challenge being a big draw for our inquisitive children.
It was a great visit which was especially moving in the week of the 75th anniversary of D-Day.Go back
