This week we welcome Mrs Cottage to Leehurst Swan who has joined us as the new French teacher for both Prep and Senior pupils. 

 

Before training as a teacher, Mrs Cottage worked for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and then the British Council in Abu Dhabi, where she lived for 10 years.

With the British Council, she managed their International Schools Partnerships Programme for the Middle East. This included a lot of travel around the region and meeting with senior members of education ministries in countries such as UAE, Kuwait, Iraq and Yemen.

Mrs Cottage completed her degree in French and Russian at Bristol University, which included studying for a year at the University of Togo in West Africa and the University of Krasnodar in Russia. She went on to train as a MFL teacher in 2018 and has since taught French and Spanish at a number of local schools.

“I love Languages and take every opportunity to learn the basics of any language I come across. I have studied Czech at Summer school in the Czech Republic, Arabic in the UAE and Swahili in Kenya.

I have three children, all at school in Salisbury. I love reading, travelling, walking and cycling in the New Forest with my children and our neurotic miniature dachshund.”
