Leehurst Swan is awarded top marks in the latest inspection by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI).
ISI Inspections are of two forms: Educational quality and Compliance. The school was inspected in both categories and achieved the grade of ‘Excellent’ in every aspect of Educational quality with the Early Years, being graded ‘Outstanding’; the highest possible outcomes in each of the reports.
A total of six inspectors visited the school over four days to investigate every aspect of school life, before reaching the decision that the school should be awarded the highest grade in every category. The inspectors found the school to be fully compliant regarding all regulations. The Inspection report states: “The quality of the pupils’ academic and other achievements is excellent. Pupils of all ages make excellent progress, including children in the EYFS and those with learning needs and the more able. The pupils’ attitudes to learning are excellent, contributing strongly to their success and enjoyment in all areas of the school”
Commenting on the personal development of pupils, the inspectors said: “The quality of the pupils’ personal development is excellent. Pupils of all ages are happy and confident individuals who feel supported by the school community.”
The Headmaster; Mr Roger Leake commented “I am delighted the Inspectors have recognised that Leehurst Swan is an outstanding school at every age group in every category. As an all through school, we have children aged from 6 weeks to 16 years. The pupils and the staff have worked hard to build a community of excellence and we are all proud of this report.”
Leehurst Swan is listed as the top school independent school in the South West region whilst being placed 44th best independent school in the whole country.Go back
