Independent Co-Educational Day School
Our Head Girl, Immy, has returned to school after a very busy summer of racing. Immediately before starting back in September, Immy won an 800m race at Watford athletics track in a personal best time of 2m25s! With only one more race to run this season, Immy has won 11 races out of the 18 she has competed in.
Immy's best performances this season have been winning the U17W 300m Wiltshire County Championships; winning the Intermediate Girls 800m Wiltshire Schools Championship; winning the four 4.5k Poole Upton House races; and winning two Watford Open events.
The Watford Athletics Track, operated by Watford Harriers, is renowned in the South of England for the competitive nature of its races and is always oversubscribed. On 24 July, Immy won her first Watford race of the year (1500m) and took 8 seconds off her personal best, finally breaking the five minute barrier to achieve a time of 4m59s and thus qualifying to join the elite British Milers Club!
Immy added to her wins tally by returning to Watford on 4 September to win the 800m race in a time of 2m25 (two secnods faster than the win at the Wiltshire Schools Championship).
Immy remains a very keen and dedicated runner - training six days a week and intent on achieving her goal of becoming a professional athlete.
As a school community we are very proud of Immy, her hard work, dedication and well-deserved successes.Go back
