Independent Co-Educational Day School
In today’s world, confidence and the ability to express yourself and communicate well are essential life skills. Studying Drama allows pupils to develop these important skills in a way which challenges their imagination and develops their emotional intelligence. It is a subject which allows pupils to overcome shyness, learn who they are, and shine. It is this aspect which makes Drama such a special subject. Because of the confidence, communication and team working skills which Drama builds, it is viewed as a valuable qualification by prospective employers.
The Department is a vibrant one which believes that taking part in, and viewing of live productions is an integral and essential part of the course. Pupils take the AQA GCSE specification which contains a mix of practical, theoretical and design work. The Department stages GCSE performances in the well-equipped Drama Studio and pupils take part both in the Drama club and school productions. Musical theatre productions are collaborative events between the Music and Drama departments.
