Year 2 Visit Sevington Victorian School
Thursday, January 29, 2009
Year 2 children stepped back in time to 1893 when they visited Sevington Victorian School recently. From the moment they arrived the children stayed in role, learning the 3 R’s; reading writing and arithmetic, using slates and a copy book for writing on. Lunch was eaten in the parlour, authentically prepared by their parents, and playtime was enjoyed by all as the children were able to use hobby horses, hoops and similar Victorian toys.
A wonderful experience but everyone, was greatly relieved to return to the twenty first century!
