Walker Hall

Leehurst Swan pupils are thrilled with an outstanding new facility provided by the recent completion of the ‘Walker Hall.’
The Headmaster and governors are delighted with the hall, built for the performing arts and school assemblies. Mrs Mary Paisey MBE, former Headmistress and long serving governor of the school, opened this outstanding provision on the 21st September 2010.
Leehurst Swan pupils and staff are greatly enjoying the benefits of increased space and excellent facilities for lunch. The retractable seating provides modern and comfortable chairs for all the senior pupils and will be much appreciated by pupils and audiences alike.
The hall boasts not only an exceptional auditorium with a stage and full stage lighting, but also two new well equipped music rooms, an excellent foyer and kitchen.
Leehurst Swan has taken care to be environmentally friendly and the building has been designed to be energy efficient with under floor heating and innovative windows which rise to allow free access to the outdoor environment. The building was designed to a high specification by architects Ralph Ross Partners and completed both on time and budget by the builders RG Spillar.
The ‘Walker Hall’ has enhanced the facilities at Leehurst Swan allowing for an extended time table and increased extra curricular activities for the pupils.
It has also served to re-inforce the strong community spirit of the school by allowing the whole school to meet together at lunch, an aspect valued and appreciated by the Headmaster, staff and pupils alike.
