Pupils visit Windsor Castle

Pupils in Year 8 enjoyed their visit to Windsor Castle despite the rain.  They enjoyed a very informative presentation explaining links between the Tudor and Stuart monarchs and Windsor Castle. Pupils had the chance to try juggling ,  try to  look like  the portrait of the young Prince Edward ( later King Edward VI) ( well done, Marcus!), and to try on  a Parliamentary helmet and a Restoration dress.

Although the  ceremony of the Changing of the Guard  did not take place due to the rain, pupils saw guards arrive, march and were photographed by the sentry box in the Lower Ward and near the Tudor houses.

They also had an interesting time in the State Apartments and enjoyed  a talk and a tour of St George’s Chapel, again learning more about the Tudors and Stuarts.

Pupils were photographed as a group outside the Chapel.
