Pupils from Leehurst Swan School took part in the Rotary Youth Public Speaking Competition and won their first round in the intermediate section

Rotary Youth Speaks, a national competition run by the Rotary Club of Great Britain and Ireland, exists to develop the art of public speaking in teams of young people.

Our team, Alexandra Thomas, Tabitha Bunyan and Jo Lucas-Pickup delivered an entertaining piece on ‘New Year around the world’.

The team were praised for their clear articulation, good audience contact and excellent team work and pronounced the worthy winners. The team now go on to participate in the next round of this prestigious competition which will be held on 6th February.
