Leehurst Swan Boys become County Tennis Players

Four Prep Boys at Leehurst Swan have been selected for the Wiltshire County Cup Junior Tennis Squads. They are Samuel Littlejohn, Harry Baker, Bhupinder Tanday who will all play for the U10’s and Henry Birt who has been selected for the Under 12’s.

Henry has just tuned 10 and began competing in the U12 category from September. His selection for this training squad which is made up of the Top 8 under 12 players in Wiltshire is down to the number of matches Henry won over the summer period and his player rating which was recently increased.

Match Report U11 Boys Football ‘B’ v Clayesmore

On a glorious warm and sunny autumn afternoon, our team played a fast and attacking game. For many of our players it was their first match of the season. It was also their first time of playing together. They quickly dominated the opposition, with excellent attacking runs down both wings. Bradley Commons in Yr 5 easily took on three or four of their players down the left wing to cross ball after ball into the goal area.

Playing with the small goals made scoring hard and in the first half we had hit the cross-bar at least 5 times. It was one – nil to us at half time.

The second half was a lot better for both teams; however with our ball control and passing skills we quickly broke through their defence to finally win 5:0.

Players of the match go to two new lads to the football squad: George Woodford-White and Alex Larsen for their attacking skills.

Well done to all the boys.
