Arts Week

This was an exciting week with many activites and events.  The school was splendidly decorated by the pupils.  With every child having something on display.  A huge range of activities took place ranging from concerts to jive dancing.  Flying fish hovered above the fish pond on the lawn and a rockpool, complete with starfish, appeared in one of the art rooms.

Salisbury Mayor visits Leehurst Swan

Mayor

Salisbury Mayor Mrs I Evans and Mayoress Mrs J Fittall visited Leehurst Swan last week to view the Art Gallery and join the Senior School for their end of year Concert. At the end of the evening Mrs Evans praised the children on their excellent art and wonderful concert. She said “this has been one of the best events I have attended so far!”

Prep Swimming Gala

The emphasis of this events is very much on enjoyment and swimming for ones house rather than for individual acheivement.

Constable House took an early lead with Fawcett and Golding having very close contest for second position.

Constable maintained their strong lead throughout the competition and won with 111 points to their credit with Golding just taking second position from Fawcett with 73 points.  Fawcet 69 and Herbert with 36.

A very enjoyable morning particularly evident with the raft relays.

 

Salisbury Primary Schools Athletics Championships

The championships were blessed with ideal weather conditions and as a result there was a big crowd of supporters for the twenty schools taking part.  Leehurst Swan pupils had a very exciting and successful evening wth the following pupils receiving medals.

Jacob Collins - Year 3 60m sprint 2nd place

Tara King - Year 3 60m sprint 3rd palce

Isabel Rutledge - Year 5 80m sprint 2nd place

Year 6 Boys circular relay 2nd place

The Year 6 Boys Relay Team winners were Munvinder Tanday, Lewis Commons, Richard Cox and Lewis Rutledge.
